Thank you for your interest in working with Craft Homes! We’re excited that you’ve chosen us to build your dream home. Our process is proven to get your project off the ground as quickly as possible while meeting all your needs and expectations. We’ll be here every step of the way from beginning to completion to make sure you have a full understanding of what’s happening with your home. The following is our proven process for delivering you your dream home at an affordable price.

Step 1

Introduction Meeting

The first step in our process is to meet with you to discuss your ideas and understand your needs. This is the time to bring your photos, floorplans, Pinterest boards and any other wish list ideas you want to incorporate into your dream home. We’ll review some of our many floorplans to find a home that best fits your needs and lifestyle, and from there we’ll discuss any of your preferred customizations to make your home – uniquely you! Let’s take this opportunity to get to know each other, discuss pricing, and determine if we’re the right fit for you!

Step 2

Preliminary Blueprint

Next, we will further discuss any structural modifications you would like made to your chosen floorplan, so that we can provide you with a detailed and transparent outline of the costs associated with your customizations.

Step 3

Budget and Specification Review

Here we will review comprehensive pricing and specifications for the floorplan you've selected, including the costs associated with the modifications discussed in our Blueprint meeting. Our specification review will cover Craft Homes standard features along with areas of allowances within your new home. We’ll also discuss the future phases of the homebuilding process to make sure you are comfortable and confident moving forward.

Step 4

Construction Agreement

At this time, we'll finalize a Purchase/Construction Agreement with you to initiate the process of building your new home! This Purchase/Construction Agreement will include our performance guidelines, the specification detail of your home, and costs associated with the structural modifications we have discussed. Once approved, we will begin to obtain all necessary permits to start construction!

Step 5

Construction Process Review / Online Portal Access

With a finalized Construction Agreement in place, we'd like to welcome you to Craft Homes and make sure you’re in the loop every step of the way! We'll provide you with a more detailed schedule and timeline for your selections, along with login credentials to our web-based system BuilderTrend, which is our project management software for all things before, during and after the construction of your home. From there, you'll be able to make selections, keep track of the schedule, have a live view of your build budget, view progress photos and more! The Selections area offers quick access to some of the finishing selection options for your home, including door styles, plumbing fixtures, cabinet and bath hardware, millwork stylings and more. These selections help you to begin envisioning the style of your home, and will lay the foundation for your future Design appointments.

Step 6

Final Blueprint

At this meeting we'll fine-tune any remaining non-structural modifications you would like made, and finalize your floorplan to create construction documents that will be used to build your new home.

Step 7

Design 1

Let's make this house a home! We'll review any of your selected design features in our online portal, answer questions and begin to personalize every inch of your home - from exterior selections, flooring, countertops, cabinet design, millwork stylings, paint colors and more. Here is where your floorplan begins to come to life!

Step 8

Design 2

The second Design meeting is an opportunity to build upon the design elements we've incorporated into your home during our first meeting, and further define the overall style that will make your home - uniquely you!

Step 9

Pre-Construction Walkthrough

Let's meet your Construction Manager and talk through specific details about the construction process and what to expect!
We'll review the survey and floorplan, scheduled site visits, our construction stages, process and expectations and more!

Step 10

Pre-Drywall Walkthrough

Once framing is complete, your Construction Manager will meet you on-site to do the first walkthrough of your home! All framing, electrical, HVAC and plumbing will be installed, and at this meeting you'll be able to confirm placements of lighting, outlets, switches, appliances and other room features.

Step 11

Customer Home Orientation

Congratulations! It is almost time to move into your new home, and you've reached the anticipated day of seeing how your new home has come to life! The Customer Home Orientation Walkthrough typically occurs 7-10 days prior to your Closing date, and has several purposes, including customer education and quality inspection. A thorough checklist will be used to review and inspect various aspects of the home, and any remaining punchlist items will be documented with a plan to complete them prior to your move-in day. We will discuss our warranty process and procedure, review all features and functions of your home, and educate you on how to care for your new home going forward. This walkthrough typically takes about 2-3 hours.

Step 12

Closing Walkthrough

The day you've been waiting for is FINALLY here! Congratulations! On the day prior to Closing, you will return to your new home for a brief meeting with your Construction Manager to review the completion of any items documented at your Customer Home Orientation and confirm that you are ready to move-in! This walkthrough typically takes about 30-45 minutes.
